How to burn a Blu-ray disc with Toast 10

With the flourish of digital science and technology, Blu-ray movies have becoming increasingly prevalent. For example, Avatar, a 2009 American science fiction epic film, has received a lot of praises and comments. Against the background of new digital era, people are eager to make full advantage of high-definition and Blu-ray movies. However, since Blu-ray disc is the newest innovative and currently expensive, many people want to burn the Blu-ray disc in case of disc damages. Therefore, this tutorial aims to successfully burn a Blu-Ray disc with easy steps.
Part One: Introduction
This part introduces Toast 10, Roxio’s latest release of their CD/DVD burning software, can burn many different formats of CDs and DVDs through Mac OS X..
Before burning a Blu-ray disc with this Burner, we should be aware the format accepted by it. Briefly, this burning tool is well compatible with DV, DV 16:9, HDV 720p, HDV 1080i, QuickTime, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, H.264, Divx and 3GP. But, Blu-ray disc originally produces encrypted MTS/M2TS files which can not be accepted by Toast. Then is it possible for Toast to burn Blu-ray disc directly? Obviously, the answer is negative.
Part Two: Rip Blu-ray disc to MPEG-2 or AC3
With the help of Moyea Blu-Ray Ripper, a pretty cheap Blu-ray Splitter, it is much easier to modify the Blu-Ray formats for being supported by Toast.
Notes:
This program allows users to rip and backup any Blu-Ray movie, DVD, even the protected Blu-Ray discs into other popular audio and video formats like AVI, ASF, MPEG, MPG, MP4, WMV, MKV, MOV, FLV, SWF, RM, 3GP, AAC, AC3, MP3, OGG, WAV, WMA, M4A, etc with high quality.
Step one: freely download this program and install in on your computer.

Step two: load Blu-ray files to it, specify output video/audio format by drop-down list of ‘Format’ (here you can choose “MPEG-2″ as the output format), if you want to set the audio format, you can choose “AC3-Dolby AC-3 (*ac3)” or other options as you wish. After that, you can specify destination folder by using “Browse” button.

Step three: Advanced settings
Click “Settings” button, a new windows will pop up. On this interface, there are many choices allowing users to set freely for more satisfactory parameters. Here, 5.1 Channel Surround sound will be highlighted. You guys can choose “6″ from the drop-down list of ‘Channels’ to realize the 5.1 Channel Surround sound.

Step four: hit “Convert” to start the conversion.
Once the conversion is completed, you are ready for Toast 10.
Part Three: Begin to burn
Open Toast 10 and navigate to the video button. Under Blu-Ray video, drag your newly created MTS file onto the Toast application. Toast will recognize the Mpeg2 and Dolby 5.1 ac3 file. Under “Options” , click the “more” button.
- Under “Disk,” name your disk and select “Play all items simultaneously”.
- Under “Menus” choose Menu style “no menu.”
- Under “Encoding” choose “Mpeg2″ and max out your bitrates to 26mbps. Set Reencoding to “never.” Under “Audio” choose “Dolby Digital.” Everything else should be automatic.

Finally, make sure you are set to burn to BD-R, click the red burn button and let it go. It might say encoding, but no worries, your encoded work will remain untouched.
